Shop for Scionwood
Grow the varieties that have defined the world's greatest cider traditions for centuries — start from scions shipped directly to you from our orchard in Atlantic Canada. Our scionwood collection brings together the best heirloom cider apple varieties from England, France, and North America, each selected for its contribution to the press and its place in cider history.
Whether you're establishing a new orchard, expanding an existing one, or grafting your first tree, our scionwood is your path to propagating true-to-type varieties that are rarely available as nursery stock. Every scion is harvested from our own trees at The Orchard Point Prim on Prince Edward Island — freshly cut, carefully packed, and ready to graft onto the rootstock of choice.
English bittersharps and bittersweets: Kingston Black, Dabinett, Chisel Jersey, Stoke Red, and more
Norman French varieties: Binet Rouge and other traditional cidre apples
American heritage varieties: Harrison, Esopus Spitzenburg, and other rediscovered classics
Each scion is approximately 4 inches long with a minimum of 3 healthy buds.
Harvested seasonally — order early, quantities are limited.
Not sure which variety is right for your orchard or cider goals? Each product page includes notes on each variety: classification, flavour profile, tannin/acidity levels, and best uses. Browse the collection and build the orchard you've always wanted.
